Rewatching my graduation speech

damn i was good

So the other day my friend was talking to me about my Valedictorian speech, and she was like, “Your speech was really touching. Especially at the end, when you choked up a bit and almost started crying. It was a sweet touch”

And I didn’t want to tell her that I wasn’t about to cry, the wind just blew a bunch of my hair in my mouth and I was trying to speak around it because I didn’t want to spit it out in front of everyone

So yesterday at graduation, we had all planned to do the macarena before marching out. So I get to graduation and I asked people if we were still on for the macarena, but apparently the plan had changed and we were throwing tortillas instead of our caps.

Tortillas.

We literally cannot get any more stereotypically small-Hispanic-town than that.

On a scale of 1 to Original Songs, I wonder how much I’m going to cry tonight…

At the beginning of the year, the Seniors watched the sun rise and wrote three goals for the year. Tonight, we’re watching the sun set and we got our paper back. I’m two for three, but hopefully Darren comes to LeakyCon…

I’m finishing up my Valedictorian speech… debating whether or not to end it abruptly by throwing up the Nerdfighter sign instead of doing the cliched quote thing.

Now that we’re all graduating soon, every conversation with my friends ends with a weepy goodbye and declaration of mutual appreciation.
